Community Initiatives

Our budding partnership with the IAMACF Free Health Clinic lends us the opportunity to serve predominantly uninsured and underinsured South Asian communities in Chicago. Together, we unite Hamara Health's expertise in preventative health education and IAMACF Free Health Clinic's commitment to accessible healthcare. During the clinic's specialty days, Hamara Health is offering preventative health education resources in Hindi and Gujarati covering topics pertaining to sun protection, mental health, and cardiovascular disease prevention, equipping patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health.

In partnership with Picmonic and its robust visual mnemonic video production platform, Hamara Health is excited to launch our video series on health topics pertaining to South Asian health. Ranging from destigmatizing mental illness to promoting widespread vaccination against common infectious diseases, we are elated to share the finished product of this initiative across all of our community partners.

Since the start of the pandemic, Hamara Health has sought to mitigate the disproportionate effects of COVID-19 on vulnerable populations and those on the frontlines combating the virus through an ongoing partnership with EndingCOVID. Recently, we developed educational pamphlets highlighting ways to maintain physical and financial wellness during the pandemic and collaborated with TeleHealth Access for Seniors to distribute these brochures alongside mobile device donations at VA centers!

Over the COVID-19 pandemic, we mobilized our team to gather and donate essential supplies like masks, toiletries, and food items. We’ve sought to support those who need it most with heartfelt compassion, from our contributions to the Refugee Community Partnership in Chapel Hill, NC to our most recent donations at homeless shelters and community centers in central NC. We stand in solidarity with the marginalized communities who have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and seek to do our part to provide aid where it is needed.

Ready to run? Come support Hamara Health as we participate in The Great Human Race! The Great Human Race is a 5K run and community walk and is the largest collective fundraising event in the Triangle. The event takes place in late March each year at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Hamara Health has elected to participate in the race so we can be a part of this collaborative event and make an impact on the community, but we need your help! There are plenty of ways to get involved: run, walk, volunteer, or donate to our cause directly!
