Hamara Heros

General information
Hamara Health is excited to present an engaging children’s book series designed to engage K-6 audiences with essential health topics where South Asian communities continue to experience disparities. Our books are produced using evidence-based guidelines alongside expert physicians and allied providers at top academic institutions. A core component of Hamara Health’s philosophy is that knowledge should be accessible to anyone. Given this, we have pledged that all proceeds from our children’s books are reinvested into community-first initiatives. There are absolutely no profits, nor salaries, within our organization, which is 100% volunteer-driven.

Empathy Emperor: A Tale of Inner Strength

In collaboration with MannMukti, Hamara Health proudly presents our children's book discussing topics in mental health. MannMukti is a national nonprofit organization working to encourage healthy dialogue about South Asian mental health, reducing stigmas and promoting self care habits.

In South Asian communities, deep-seated mental health stigma and systemic challenges often hinder open discussions and early support, leaving many young minds struggling in silence. By directly addressing these issues, our story hopes to empower children to embrace their emotions and build resilience, breaking down barriers to mental well-being. Here, we follow young Jay on a transformative journey guided by the compassionate Empathy Emperor, where he learns to express his feelings and seek support from loved ones. Produced in collaboration with MannMukti, this story reinforces our commitment to nurturing mental health awareness and resilience across South Asian communities.

Booster Boy & Guardian Girl: Rise of the Superbugs!

In collaboration with artist Andreia d'Almeida, Hamara Health proudly presents our second book, discussing infectious diseases common in South Asian communities.

In this story, sibling superheroes Booster Boy and Guardian Girl transform the fight against infectious diseases into an exciting and inspiring journey for young readers. Join them as they battle the evil General Germ and his dangerous team of villains. This adventure takes readers on a race to protect public health, highlighting important lessons about health equity and community resilience.

We are currently working hard to bring this story to schools and communities nationwide, and encourage families/educators to join Booster Boy and Guardian Girl in inspiring a new generation of everyday heroes equipped with knowledge, compassion, and the courage to build a healthier world.
